Hello, hunters! I'm a software development engineer from China

by

I’ve been in this industry for almost 10 years. Most of the time, I’ve just been writing code and completing projects for my boss. But now that I’m middle-aged, I’ve started to develop some ideas of my own and think about planning a path for myself.

Recently, my daily routine hasn’t been very healthy. On workdays, I usually go to bed between midnight and 2 a.m., wake up at 7:40 in the morning, and then rely on weekends to catch up on sleep.

But over time, I started noticing some problems — low mood, difficulty concentrating, daydreaming, slower reactions, and sometimes not wanting to go to work at all. I realized that sleep has a huge impact on me, yet I keep staying up late.

I’m always falling short of getting 8 hours of sleep, so I want to build a tool to track my daily sleep duration and calculate my sleep debt and fatigue level.

I built this tool because I needed it myself first. The app is called DotSleep, and it’s already available on iOS.

There’s a free version for anyone who wants to try it. And if you'd like access to the premium features, feel free to reach out — I can send you a trial membership code.

I’m also preparing for a launch on Product Hunt soon.

Inspiring story JianDa...building tools you actually need is the best motivation! Reminds me of The Sponge I created to master Jeopardy trivia...it's an AI-powered flashcard app with a browser extension that turns any webpage into spaced repetition study material. Excited for your PH launch! If you're up for it, I'm launching on PH soon too...would appreciate a follow (PRODUCT HUNT LAUNCH link in my profile).
