From web designer to SaaS founder — built three niche condition-recording apps

by

Hey everyone, I'm Rich from Perth, Western Australia.

I run a web design agency (Daxies Web Design) but over the last several months I've been building a suite of condition-recording apps for industries that are constantly losing money to damage disputes and paper-based inspection processes after a web client came looking for solutions.

The three apps:

🏗️ HireCheck (hirecheck.app) — for plant and equipment hire businesses. Staff do photo inspections, customers get a condition report link embedded in their hire contract, and QR code stickers on each machine mean inspections take seconds on-site.

🏠 LodgeCheck (lodgecheck.app) — the same idea for short-stay accommodation. Condition reports between guests, timestamped photos, shareable links.

🔧 TradieCheck (tradiecheck.app) — for tradies who work on client sites and need to document existing damage before they start work.

All three are live, self-serve, 7-day free trials, built with Node.js/SQLite on Railway.

HI would be happy to connect with anyone in the SaaS, proptech, or construction tech space — or anyone who's been through the early traction phase and has war stories to share. Still very much in the "finding my first 10 customers" stage and grateful for any advice. Finding the whole marketing process frustrating and getting it seen a bit demoralising.

Will be launching on Product Hunt soon.
