From a small city to building AI and social products.
Hi, I'm Ueder Cardoso, and I'm from a small city in São Paulo (a brazilian state).
I come from a poor family. My parents only finished elementary school, but didn't go to middle school because they had to start working early. And my father was a gas deliveryman for the rest of his life, and my mother has been a homemaker and helped in my father's business. Currently, my father is retired on a minimum wage, and my mother works as an elderly caregiver, but earns the minimum wage.
I graduated in Information Systems (2014-2018) from a small regional college in a small city, and I've always enjoyed programming since I was 11 years old. I developed websites when I was 11 (2007), and created LSL (Linden Script Language) scripts for Second Life when I was 15-16 (2011-2012). I created my first commercial product when I was 21 (2017), a desktop system that used Java SE, SQL Server 2008, and Eclipse IDE, but it didn't generate much sales.
In the last year of college, when I turned 22 (2018), I built a second product as my final project: a help portal (uses PHP, MySQL, Bootstrap, Firezilla, HTML, CSS, JavaScript) where people could voluntarily exchange items they no longer wanted. But I ended up shutting down that project after I finished college because I had no understanding of business models and growth hacking. After finishing college, I started working as a freelancer and earning a small amount of money with my Java system.
At 24 years old, I built 10 apps with Flutter in about 6 months and failed at all of them. Finishing my early twenties with the transition from desktop to web and then to mobile.
During college, I knew nothing about growth hacking strategies and network effects. Even less about the concept of startups, angel investments, and venture capital. I only became aware of this around 2020-2026 (I learned a lot from Andrew Chen's articles on growth hacking), when I matured my product ideas to make new releases and try for success again. One of this year's product launches will be about a product I've been developing since 2020, and I hope you can send feedback.
Thank you for your attention. I need to overcome my perfectionism and launch quickly. Furthermore, I have many new ideas to launch.
