From a $50 domain flip to M&A advisor: now helping first-time founders raise

by•

Hi everyone 👋

I'm Mohit. For the last 10+ years I've sat between founders and investors, first brokering domains and websites, then advising on M&A and capital raises as Founder and CEO of InstaFlip®. Along the way I've worked with 500+ founders and business owners and 2,500+ investors across the globe.

How it started: at 19, after every online side hustle I tried had failed, I bought a domain for $50 and sold it a week later for $450. That $400 taught me the lesson my whole career runs on: value isn't the price tag, it's what the right buyer sees that the seller can't.

Why I'm here: in all those years, the pattern that bothered me most was this. Good founders losing deals, ownership and control, not because they were less talented, but because nobody had shown them how fundraising actually works. They'd nod along to words like SAFE, valuation cap and liquidation preference, across the table from people who'd done it hundreds of times.

So I'm building RaiseFluent: a simple system for first-time founders to understand the game before they play it.

What's coming:

- A FREE eBook on when to raise, when to bootstrap and when to walk away

- Free calculators for dilution, SAFEs and valuation.

- A step-by-step kit to actually run your first raise

I'm building it in public and would love your input:

👉 If you've raised (or tried to), what's the one thing you wish someone had told you before your first investor meeting?

Happy to answer any fundraising or M&A questions in the comments too. Glad to be here!

Mohit
