Everyone put me down, including myself. But here I am… posting on Product Hunt.

I'm Michael, a Pharmacist...

Yes, you read it right.

A pharmacist who's now building SaaS and posting on Product Hunt.

And if you're wondering how the heck that happened, just give me a minute.

I've only been here for a couple of days, even though I've known about Product Hunt for months.

Why did I wait?

Fear.

Yeah.

I'm not ashamed of saying that anymore...

I spent 7+ years in the pharmaceutical industry until I couldn't stand the healthcare system anymore.

So I headed toward what I loved most: marketing.

Finding the right positioning and branding for a quality product, writing copy and building sales funnels, getting people to know about it, and helping clients shape and ship products.

After 4 years in marketing, somehow I ended up working for a Canadian software company as a marketing lead.

I helped close deals with enterprise clients, banks, and government-regulated companies.

Then the company decided to move from being project-based to product-based.

And that's when things got really interesting...

I started leading product research, helping with UI/UX, figuring out what features the market actually needed, and working with developers every day.

That's when I realized something:

I loved building SaaS.

Not just marketing it.

Shaping something around a real problem. Figuring out what people actually need. Turning an idea into something people might actually pay for.

I was good at it.

And only then, an idea started spinning in my head...

"Build yours."

Then again...

"Build one."

And that's when I started thinking:
Okay... but I'm not a developer.

I had no coding experience.

And even with AI making development much more accessible, I kept thinking:

Could I actually build something myself?

And even if I could... who is going to buy it?

I don't have a huge social following.

I don't have an email list.

I don't have a community waiting for my product.
I know how to market and sell products for other companies.

Doing it for myself feels completely different.

Until 5 months ago, when I stopped caring about all of that...
I picked a couple of problems I believed were worth solving, did the research, talked to people, and decided to build.

I told my family and friends what I was doing.

They basically told me it would fail.

"First you went from pharmaceuticals to marketing. Now you want to jump into SaaS too? You ain't gonna make it."

So I did what any completely rational person would do...

I started building anyway. 😂

For the last 5 months, some nights I slept 4–5 hours just to get the work done.

No team.

No developer background.

Just me, AI, a ridiculous amount of research, and enough stubbornness to keep going.

I ended up working on two products.

And honestly, building them taught me something I didn't expect.

Working with a development team is one thing.

Building something from an idea to a launch is a completely different game.

At the beginning, I thought I knew enough.

Then I started building.

And I realized...

I knew very little.

From sketching the idea and UI screens on paper...

To pricing research.

Competitor research.

Figuring out how to make something genuinely different.

Finding the right positioning and differentiators.

Building the actual product.

Thinking about security.

Integrating payment gateways.

Testing.

Breaking things.

Fixing things.

Breaking them again. 😂

There were several moments when I genuinely thought about quitting.

But somehow, my gut wouldn't obey my thoughts.

And honestly, that fear is still here.

I'm still nervous about putting my work out there, facing the world as a builder, and finding out whether anyone actually cares about what I made.

But I guess I stopped waiting for that fear to disappear.

And here I am...

Posting this as the first step toward launching my first software product: Prompito.

I built it around a problem I kept seeing:

People using AI, going back and forth again and again, rewriting prompts, correcting outputs, and spending way too much time trying to get the answer they actually needed.

Prompito is my attempt to solve what I believe is happening underneath that problem.

My tiny circle were impressed when they saw it working.

But they still don't believe anyone will actually use it.

I told them:

"We'll see."

So... I'm heading to the right place to find out... Hello, Product Hunt community. 👋

I'm Michael... A pharmacist who somehow ended up building SaaS.

I'd love to meet some of you, hear what you're building, and learn from people who have already been through this journey with all its ups and downs.

And if you're willing to test Prompito and tell me what you think, even if you hate it, I'd genuinely love the feedback.

Let's see what happens.
