Dear PH - New Here

by

Hello there, Product Hunt!

Happy to finally introduce myself here.

I'm a developer based from the Philippines, you can call me as R.

By day I lead a tech team at a digital bank. Outside of that, I run RLC App Solutions — a small solo venture where I build apps I genuinely believe should exist, to be honest I have pursued a solo tech venture to finally get away from corporate for good, there was just something in me that changed over the past few months when I've observed most on the top of the corporate aren't someone I wanna be.

Anyhow, I've been in tech long enough to have a long list of ideas I never had the bandwidth to act on. What changed recently is AI. Tools like Claude/Cursor have made it possible for me to move from idea to shipped product faster than I ever thought realistic as a solo builder. I'm not talking about shortcuts — I'm talking about being able to focus on the decisions that matter and actually getting things out the door.

Few projects I'm working on right now I wanted to share:

Game of the Generals (Salpakan) - a digital adaptation of a 55-year-old Philippine strategy board game that I believe not most people outside Phillippines has heard of, it's similar to Stratego. Hidden ranked pieces, no luck, pure deduction. The physical version required a human referee (arbiter) to resolve challenge.
I built the app because that barrier deserved to be removed, and I'm introducing a lot more to the game which I hope would entice Chess players and other board game users.

Hailo for Kids - a personalized learning and communication app for children on the autism spectrum. This one is personal. My son inspired it. It's still in development but it's the project I care most about getting right.

I'm here to learn, share what I'm building, and connect with other makers.

If you've ever played a strategy board game and want to try something genuinely different, or if you're building anything in the accessibility or special needs space. I'd love to talk and share more.

There's more in store, but this is it for now.

Thank you!

Really inspiring to see how AI is helping solo builders like you ship meaningful projects! The board game adaptation sounds fascinating and the work on the autism app is so important. If you're up for it, I'm launching The Sponge on PH soon...an AI-powered flashcard app that turns any webpage into study material. Would appreciate a follow (See "PRODUCT HUNT LAUNCH" Link in my profile)
