Building a voice-first AI tutor for toddlers. What would make you trust one?
Hi everyone, I'm Ugonna, solo founder of BrightKid. The app is live in the US on iPhone, iPad and Android, and we're featuring it on Product Hunt on 27 Oct.
BrightKid is a learning app for ages 1 to 5. Instead of tapping and watching, kids talk with Arlo, a robot tutor who listens and responds by voice. Sessions are short (about 5 to 12 minutes depending on age), parents can build the lessons or let Arlo plan the day, and games only unlock after the day's lesson.
I'd love honest input, especially from parents:
- What makes you trust (or not trust) a learning app for a young child?
- How do you feel about AI talking with your kids?
- What would you want to see or control as a parent?
You can try it free for 7 days, no card needed. Happy to answer anything!

Welcome, Ugonna! Games unlocking only after the lesson is a smart touch. The first thing I'd want answered as a parent is what happens to the child's voice. Is the audio stored, for how long, and is it ever used to train anything? I work with voice recordings in my own app and that's the question people ask before anything else, so I'd put the answer in one plain sentence on the first screen a parent sees, not only in the privacy policy. Second, a short transcript after each session, so a parent can see what Arlo actually said, would build more trust than any badge. Good luck on the 27th!
