16 years old, launching a fintech product in 6 days

by•

Hey Product Hunt. I'm Matthew, founder of Protonyx LLC.

I'm a junior in high school in St. Louis, and I've spent the last year building Vector, a portfolio analytics desktop app for self-directed retail investors.

The core product is a diagnostic engine called Lens. You enter your holdings, it runs your portfolio through 8 analyzers, checks your risk exposure, volatility, concentration, momentum, beta, and more, then tells you exactly what to do about it in plain English. No finance degree required.

I built it because most retail investors know what they own but have no idea if it's actually working for them. The tools that exist are either too simple or built for professionals. I wanted to bring institutional-grade analysis to regular people in a language they can actually understand.

Open beta launches June 5 at protonyxdata.com. Free to join.

I'm also 6 days out from my first real public launch, figuring out marketing, infrastructure, and distribution mostly on my own. Happy to connect with other founders here, especially anyone who's launched a desktop app or a fintech product before.

What's the one thing you wish someone told you before your first launch?

Wow, impressive work, Matthew! Launching a fintech desktop app at 16 is no small feat. One thing I wish I'd known before my first launch is how crucial early user feedback is—set up a simple way for beta users to share thoughts and iterate fast. Also, make sure your infrastructure can handle a sudden spike; a bit of pre‑emptive scaling saves a lot of panic. If you're up for it, I'm launching on PH soon... would appreciate a follow (See PRODUCT HUNT LAUNCH link in my profile). I'm building The Sponge, an AI‑powered flashcard app that turns any webpage into study material.

@rianbrob Appreciate it Rian. The feedback loop point is something I'm actively building out before launch. Infrastructure is on Railway so scaling should be manageable. Will check out The Sponge, good luck on your launch.

Good luck, that's indeed impressive!

@sk_uxpin Appreciate it!

Congrats, for 16 years old a project in that sector is a big thing! Hope it works out and you get at least a few first users, and I'd be glad to know more about the app.
