Why I built ImgDoc I’ve worked with a lot of documents and found that converting scanned images into editable files is still surprisingly frustrating. Text OCR is already quite good, but mathematical formulas are much harder. A scanned equation can easily become broken text or a screenshot instead of something you can actually edit in Word. That was the problem I wanted to solve with ImgDoc. The goal is simple: Image / PDF → editable document with a particular focus on preserving mathematical formulas as editable Word equations. I started by building a simple set of image and document conversion tools, and I’m now improving the harder parts — especially formulas, scanned worksheets, and complex documents. I’d love to hear how you currently handle this workflow and what types of documents give you the most trouble.
