πŸ‘‹ Hi Product Hunt! I'm Harsh, the creator of IdeaCheck. Like many founders, I've had moments where I was excited about a startup idea but couldn't confidently answer one question: **"Is this actually worth building?"** Validating an idea often meant spending hours researching competitors, reading forums, checking market demand, and still being left with uncertainty. That's why I built IdeaCheck. IdeaCheck helps founders validate startup ideas in minutes by providing AI-powered insights on: βœ… Market demand βœ… Competitor analysis βœ… Target audience βœ… Monetization opportunities βœ… Risks and challenges βœ… Growth potential But I wanted it to be more than just another AI report generator. So I added **Roast Mode** β€” a feature that challenges your idea like a brutally honest founder friend, helping you uncover weaknesses, blind spots, and assumptions before investing time and money. You can also receive your complete validation report directly via email, making it easy to revisit, share, and iterate on your ideas. My goal with IdeaCheck isn't to tell founders what to build. It's to help them make more informed decisions before spending weeks or months developing the wrong thing. I'd genuinely love your feedback: β€’ How do you currently validate startup ideas? β€’ What's the hardest part of deciding whether an idea is worth pursuing? I'll be around throughout the day answering questions, collecting feedback, and improving the product based on what I learn. Thank you for checking out IdeaCheck and supporting indie makers πŸš€

@new_user___1532026a9162131ba0aba36Β This is a real pain pointβ€”I've talked to hundreds of founders stuck in that exact moment of uncertainty before committing resources. The Roast Mode angle is smart because validation often fails when people only hear what they want to hear. One thing I'd be curious about: how do you handle ideas where market demand is hard to measure because the market doesn't exist yet (like most truly novel ideas).

@saulfleischmanΒ Thanks, Saul β€” appreciate the thoughtful question.

For truly novel ideas, we don't try to pretend there's precise market data. Instead, we look for signals around the problem itself: Are people discussing it? Using workarounds? Spending time or money to solve it already? We also analyze adjacent markets to estimate potential demand.

It's an area we're actively improving, but we'd rather surface imperfect signals than give founders false certainty.
