Hookest tracks the opening seconds of viral TikToks, Reels, and Shorts and makes them searchable with real performance data. Study what’s working in your niche, watch competitors, and bring saved hooks into Claude, ChatGPT, or Gemini through MCP.
We built Hookest to make it easier for creators and marketers to discover viral hooks and understand what makes people stop scrolling. Instead of spending hours searching for inspiration, Hookest brings high-performing content and real insights into one place.
You can explore viral hooks across TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts, understand why content works, spot emerging trends, and track competitors’ Instagram accounts to get notified when their content starts taking off.
Hookest also connects with ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini through MCP, so you can explore and analyze viral content directly from the AI tools you already use.
We’d love to hear what you think and what you’d like us to build next! 🚀

@zeynepsahinCan i track specific competitors and get notified when one of their posts starts performing unusually well??
@vipul_kumar1280Thanks, Vipul 😊 Yes, exactly! You can track specific competitors on Instagram, and Hookest will notify you when one of their posts starts performing unusually well compared to their usual content.
Nice to see this one go live, Zeynep, congrats. Does the hook library work for smaller niches like Mac apps, or is it mostly built around the big consumer topics?
@protsenkoalexandra Thanks, Alexandra! 😊 It works for smaller niches too. You can search and explore hooks across different categories, so you’re not limited to just broad consumer topics. The amount of content can vary depending on how niche the topic is, but we’re continuously expanding the library. 🙌

Congrats @zeynepsahin@huseyincetins, nice idea! How fresh the hook database stays, do you update it daily?
@bdennis11907 Thanks, Brandon! 🙌 Yes, we update the hook library daily with fresh content from TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts, so there’s always something new to discover. 😊
@kate_ramakaieva Thanks so much, Kate! 😊 LinkedIn Shorts isn’t available yet, but it’s definitely something we’re considering as we expand Hookest to more platforms. Really appreciate the suggestion! 🙌

This is dangerously relevant to me right now 😅
I’m growing a self-reflection app through Reels and spend way too much time manually saving hooks.
Do you track how long a hook keeps performing? I’m curious how quickly a winning format goes from interesting pattern to everyone is using this and I’m already tired of it.
@ira_motorina That’s a really interesting point, Irina! 🙌
Right now, Hookest helps you discover high-performing hooks and understand their performance data. Tracking the full lifecycle of a hook from emerging to becoming saturated is something we’d like to explore further.
Understanding not only what’s working, but also whether a trend is still growing or already becoming saturated, could be really valuable. Thanks for the great feedback! 🚀
the daily-refresh part is the detail that matters most here - a hook that crushed it in a given niche three months ago can be completely dead now since every platform's algorithm and audience taste shifts that fast. curious how far back the "performance data" actually looks: is it showing what's working right now, or does an old viral hook from months back still rank high in search just because it once did well, even if it wouldn't land today
@galdayan Great question! And honestly, that’s one of the main reasons we built the daily refresh 😊 Trends move incredibly fast, so we don’t want a hook that performed well months ago to look like it’s still trending today.
We keep the performance data updated and users can also filter by date and category, so it’s much easier to focus on what’s working recently. Older viral hooks are still there for inspiration, but the idea is to make it clear what’s gaining traction now vs. what performed well historically.
@zeynepsahin that answers it, the date/category filter is exactly the thing that would've made me trust the data. good to know it's already there, makes sense why you led with the daily refresh in the launch post.
@galdayan Glad that cleared it up, Gal! 😊 Keeping the data fresh and easy to filter is a big focus for us. Really appreciate the thoughtful question and feedback! 🙌

The competitor alert is the part I'd want to understand before trusting it. I run a small niche channel that posts short videos twice a day, morning and evening, and the two slots basically live on different baselines. A morning post that looks hot next to the account's overall average is often just a normal morning post, and the evening ones look weak for the same reason. On small accounts the average also jumps around a lot after one lucky video, so the whole scale shifts for a week. When you say a post is outperforming its usual level, is that baseline per account overall, or does it take posting time and recent history into account, and how many posts does an account need before you start alerting on it?
@antonkylikov Great question, Anton! 🙌 This is exactly the kind of edge case we want Competitor Listening to handle well.
We don’t simply compare a post against a fixed global threshold. The idea is to evaluate performance relative to the account’s own typical performance and recent content, so a smaller account isn’t judged the same way as a much larger one.
You also make a great point about posting time and sudden spikes changing the baseline. We’re continuing to refine how these patterns are handled so alerts stay useful rather than becoming noise.
Really appreciate you bringing this up — this kind of feedback is super valuable as we keep improving the feature! 🚀🙏

first 2 seconds decide pretty much everything for app ads, so this is useful. one question tho: is the performance data just views/likes, or can you see which hooks actually drive clicks or installs? in my experience viral and converting are not the same thing at all
@guzeradimazz Great point, Dmitry! 🙌 Right now, Hookest focuses on content performance signals such as views and engagement rather than click or install attribution.
And we completely agree that viral doesn’t always mean converting. That distinction is really important, especially for app marketers. Connecting creative performance with conversion signals is definitely an interesting direction for us to explore.
