HoodTip - The link you send when someone asks for recs

by
With the AI tidal wave, one real rec is worth a thousand ChatGPT ones. HoodTip puts a real person's name on every tip — click the byline, see their other recs, decide if your taste lines up. Positive only. Specific over general. The link you send when someone asks you for recs.

Hey PH — Dave here, the maker. I'm a non-technical solo founder based in Geneva. I built this demo with Claude over the last few months, part-time alongside a full-time job. What's live is real — 79 tips, 24 cities, 4 contributors — but it's static HTML on GitHub Pages. No accounts, no backend, no notifications. The real version needs a proper technical build. The idea came from a decade of travelling, and knowing that a good rec changes a trip. Makes life easier, etc. The bet is that named, attributed tips compound trust in a way anonymous ones never can — and that as AI floods every review platform, a real person's name on a rec is worth more, not less. Happy to answer anything — about the product, the build, the stack, or why a non-technical guy thinks this is worth building properly.
