How do you screen candidates before inviting them for an interview?

by•

One of the biggest challenges in recruitment is spending hours interviewing candidates who may not be the right fit for the role.

We're working on solving this problem with Hirekal, a platform that helps recruiters screen candidates through structured video interviews.

Here's what we're building:

  • Structured video interviews: Create interview questions and share a single application link with candidates.

  • Candidate assessment: Review video responses without scheduling individual calls.

  • Transcripts and speech scores: Get additional insights into candidate communication, fluency and clarity.

  • Team collaboration: Help your hiring team review candidates and make better shortlisting decisions.

We're preparing for our upcoming Product Hunt launch and would love to hear from people involved in recruitment.

A few questions for recruiters and hiring managers:

  1. How do you currently screen candidates before scheduling the first interview?

  2. What's the most time-consuming part of your initial screening process?

  3. Would asynchronous video interviews make your recruitment process easier?

We're building Hirekal with real recruitment workflows in mind, so feedback and honest opinions would be incredibly valuable.

Looking forward to hearing your experiences!
