Helm - Job-hunt copilot, built so the work stays yours

by
Helm is for job hunters who refuse to spam. Most "AI job-hunt" tools auto-apply for you, generic resumes blasted to hundreds of jobs while you sleep. Recruiters hate them, candidates get burned out, and nothing actually improves. Helm is the opposite: a copilot that helps you find right-fit roles, score them against your background, tailor your resume per job, and track the lifecycle. The submit button is always yours.

Hey Product Hunt 👋 I'm Jeff. I've spent ~20 years as a senior sales engineer in cybersecurity, and I built Helm because I needed it myself. I've been through two long senior-level job searches in the last two years, and most tools felt broken in one of two ways: • basic trackers that don't actually help you apply • AI "auto-apply" tools that blast hundreds of generic applications while you sleep Neither was what I wanted. I wanted to apply to fewer roles, but better ones. I wanted help with the tedious parts — finding listings, tailoring resumes, tracking progress — without removing the human judgment that actually wins offers. So, I built Helm. The idea is simple: you're still the captain of the search. Helm just reads the charts. What Helm does: • Aggregates jobs from 8 sources (Indeed, LinkedIn, Glassdoor, Google Jobs, Remotive, YC, HN, Greenhouse) • Scores roles 0–100 against your resume using Claude • Tailors resumes + cover letters per job description • Tracks your pipeline with Kanban + status flows • Optionally connects to Gmail to detect recruiter/interview replies automatically What Helm intentionally does NOT do: • No auto-submitting applications • No spammy autofill behavior • No "AI will get you hired" promises Every application is still reviewed and submitted by a real person. Pricing is straightforward: free tier (Crew) for casual searches, $9.99/mo (Mate) for unlimited tailoring + Gmail integration, $19.99/mo (Captain) for full power-user features. $29.99 one-time Boost Pack for short bursts of intense activity. I'm running my own job search through Helm right now. I haven't accepted an offer yet, and I want to be direct about that. Helm isn't magic. The goal is simpler and more honest: make the parts of the search you can control less exhausting and more effective. Happy to answer questions — especially the hard ones. Jeff
