Hello Storyboard - Storyboard and animatic app for iPad and Android tablets

by•
Hello Storyboard is a storyboard and animatic app for iPad and Android tablets. Sketch panels with Apple Pencil or an Android pen, set each cut's length and camera move on a frame-accurate timeline and play it back as an animatic. Then export a print-ready PDF (11 layouts), MP4/MOV video, or EDL and Final Cut XML for your editor. Works offline with no account; your drawings never leave the device. Free with a watermark; one purchase removes it.

Hi PH 👋 I'm Sungkyun, a solo developer in Seoul. Storyboarding usually means drawing in one app, timing in another, and laying out the PDF by hand in a third. HelloStoryboard does all three in one place, built for a pen on a tablet. What it does: - Draw — 70+ vector brushes, layers, action and camera arrows, speech balloons, onion skin and a light table. Apple Pencil and Android pen pressure both work. - Time it — sequence › scene › shot › panel, a frame-accurate timeline, and camera keyframes (push in, pull out, pan) so the animatic actually moves. Record or import sound and voice notes. - Caption — slugline, dialogue, action and notes per panel, plus your own fields. - Hand it off — PDF with 11 layout profiles (including the Japanese storyboard sheet) and a live preview, MP4/MOV with camera moves and sound, EDL and Final Cut XML, PNG/JPEG and CSV. The tablet edition has its own touch interface rather than a shrunken desktop: a long-press wheel menu, two-finger tap to undo, palm rejection, left- or right-handed layout. Projects are plain .hboard files, so the same board opens on iPad and Android. Everything works offline with no account. It's free to download with every feature; a faint watermark stays until a single in-app purchase removes it. No ads, no subscription. Interface in English, Japanese and Korean. If you storyboard for film, animation, ads or YouTube, I'd love to know what's missing from your workflow.
