HomeDeck - Your HomeKit dashboard on Apple TV

by
HomeDeck turns Apple TV into a full-screen dashboard for Apple Home. Browse rooms, devices, scenes, sensors, climate information, security systems, and compatible cameras from the sofa. After inactivity, HomeDeck switches to Ambient Mode. We’re inviting TestFlight testers with a configured Apple Home and an Apple TV running tvOS 26 or later to help validate device compatibility, navigation, connection stability, camera support, and Ambient Mode.

Hey Product Hunt 👋

I built HomeDeck to turn Apple TV into a dedicated dashboard for an Apple Home smart home. It brings rooms, accessories, scenes, sensors, climate information, security systems, and compatible cameras together on the biggest screen in the house. When nobody is interacting with it, HomeDeck transitions into Ambient Mode.

We’re currently looking for TestFlight participants with a configured Apple Home and an Apple TV running tvOS 26 or later.

I’d especially appreciate feedback on device compatibility, navigation, connection stability, camera support, and Ambient Mode. If you try it, please share what works well—and what breaks.

HomeDesk for iPad is now available on TestFlight! Try it out and share your feedback with us.

Would love to see a quick-access tile for the most-used scenes right on the home screen, maybe customizable order so I can jump to "Movie Night" or "Goodnight" without scrolling through rooms. Would make the whole thing feel much faster from the couch.

Thank you for the suggestion! We’ll consider adding customizable quick-access tiles for your most-used scenes on the home screen.

The Ambient Mode timeout is such a thoughtful touch, turning the TV into something useful rather than a black mirror when you walk away. Really nice execution on making the Apple TV feel like a true HomeKit command center.

Thank you for the kind words! We’re delighted that you’re enjoying the Ambient Mode timeout and the HomeKit command center experience.

Finally something useful for the big screen in the living room. I love how quickly you can flip through rooms and tap a scene without unlocking your phone, and the camera tiles feel snappy on my Apple TV.

Thank you! We’re glad the app makes home control easier.

One thing I'd love to see is the ability to create custom layouts per room, so I can drag my most-used lights and sensors to the top while tucking away the ones I rarely touch. Right now every room shows everything in the same order, which gets noisy in bigger spaces. A saved layout per profile or per Apple TV user would also be great since my partner and I prioritize different devices.

The Ambient Mode handoff after inactivity is such a thoughtful touch, it respects that the dashboard shouldn't be screaming for attention when nobody's looking. Love seeing an app built specifically around how people actually use Apple Home from the couch.

Thank you — that’s exactly the feeling we’re aiming for: useful at a glance, calm when unattended, and respectful of the room. Ambient Mode should make the dashboard feel like part of the home rather than another screen demanding attention.

@naimeolcayaocy Per-room layouts and per-user ordering make a lot of sense, especially for larger homes where the default room order gets noisy fast. That is not in the current TestFlight, but it is a strong direction for personalization. Thank you for testing the room switching and camera tiles. Glad the Ambient Mode handoff feels natural on the TV surface.

Been looking for something like this for a while. One thing that would make it even better for my setup: a customizable quick-action row at the top for my most-used scenes and lights, so I don't have to dig through rooms every evening.

Great idea — we’ll add it to our list of future improvements. Send your idea
