Hello Product Hunters! As screen-to-screen replaces face-to-face and follows and likes replace handshakes and hugs, we decided to make an app that made the real world look so dang sexy, amazing and accessible that we would eradicate loneliness by facilitating serendipitous real world experiences! Happyning helps you answer the question โ€œwhat do I feel like doing right now?โ€ Whether itโ€™s a regular Friday night, a day trip to a new city, or a week at SxSW, Happyning takes local trending hashtags and puts them on the map so you can join in. Before Happyning, we would scroll through Instagram, browse Twitter, and open SnapChats whenever we were looking for somethig fun to do. There are several problems with thisโ€ฆ - If we came across something that looked cool, it was already over - If we were visiting a new city, our friend feed was filled with things from back home - If we were at a conference or event, we were so plagued by FOMA (fear of missing out) that we ended up missing out! Happyning solves all these problems and puts fun โ€œhappyningsโ€ on the map so you can participate. - Happynings disappear after 2 hours so everything you see is fresh - You can see Happynings with a 2 mile radius of your location so you can easily join in - You can post your own Happynings and add pictures anonymously Whether youโ€™re in a new city, attending a big conference, or hanging out with friends back home, Happyning will turn average into adventurous. If you want to see more of Happyning "under-the-hood" check out this page we made for you: happyning.at/producthunt/ What feature do you suggest we build out next? 1). SEARCH - Text-based hashtag search 2). TRENDING - List of whatโ€™s trending around you 3). VIDEO- Ability to post videos in addition to pics/gifs 4). EMOJI-CATIONโ„ข - Validate posts by emojicons instead of hearts

@roydequina can you explain "emoji-cation" a bit more?

@chadriddersen Currently social apps has done a great job of validating content creators through the use of incremental counts of ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ or โค๏ธ. While this gives us a sense of support from the community, it's limiting. We felt there's a more fun and effective way to communicate between people. By using emojis as part of the validation process, it takes users to a whole new way of communication and engaging. ๐Ÿ˜Š 35 | ๐Ÿบ 75 | ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿผ 14 | ๐Ÿ‘„ 243 Now you can have a full ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฝ34 conversation via text/emojis and others simply tap ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿผ63 any ๐Ÿ˜Ž77 emojis within that thread to add value. Thanks for asking...hope you're enjoying #happyning.
