👋 Hey everyone — I’m the founder of Gubb!

Thanks so much for checking out our launch today 🙌

Gubb came from one simple idea:

“What if your notes app could do so much more — be fast, distraction-free, and combine all the little productivity tools you switch between every day?”

So we built an all-in-one workspace with:

  • Lightning-fast markdown notes that open instantly

  • Built-in to-dos, timer & Pomodoro system for focused work

  • Clipboard history, inline calculations, unit/currency conversions — yes, in your notes

  • Voice-to-text support (offline & local AI) so you can capture thoughts even when typing isn’t convenient

  • Privacy-first, offline-first design: no cloud required, you’re in control of your data

I’d love your feedback - what you like, what you don’t, what you’re hoping to see next. Your support (and upvote!) means the world ❤️

Happy note-taking and productivity! ✍️

Gubb seems to be a great productivity tool. What inspired you to build it as a desktop app after the web app got inactive?

I rebuilt Gubb as a desktop app because people wanted something faster and more reliable. A native macOS app gives instant recording, better performance, and a smoother workflow than the old web version ever could.

Thanks for sharing the 'why', Sohail! :)

Congratulation Sohail on the launch. Great, one place for mutiple tools.

 thanks, Danish, for the support.

Love the simple UI design!

Does Gubb's offline voice-to-text handle other languages or accents well, or is it mostly English right now?

 Currently English only.

Congrats on the launch 👏🏻
Regarding the stack, what have you used to build it both for Mac and Windows?

 Thanks, Pavel!

Gubb is built with Rust for the backend and React for the frontend.

so how did you make it a windows app then? for mac I know people use Electron, what did you use for windows?

Interesting product, congratulations on the launch, and if I may ask, are you using a local LLM for voice to text?

 Yes, we are using whisper!

Congrats on launch! The clipboard history is super useful feature, I want all apps to have it!

Congrats on the launch! This is an amazing product

 thanks

Congratulations on the launch. I really like the pomodoro timer in notes. Nice one 👏

Loving the privacy-first approach — no cloud, no noise, just focus. Thanks Sohail.

 Thanks for the comment!
