GTM Skill - One file that teaches AI how to market your product

by•
GTM.md is one file that teaches AI how to market your product. Add it to your repo so ChatGPT, Claude, Codex, Cursor and other agents understand your ICP, positioning, competitors, pricing, brand voice, acquisition channels, buying signals and GTM goals. Stop re-explaining your business every time you need a landing page, cold email, launch post or campaign. Your code has context for AI. Your business should too.

Hey Product Hunt 👋 I kept running into the same problem with AI. It understood my codebase pretty well. But every time I asked it to write a landing page, Product Hunt launch, Reddit post, cold email, or GTM strategy, I had to explain the business again: Who is the customer? What problem do we solve? How are we different? Who are the competitors? What tone should we use? What are we trying to achieve? So I made **GTM.md**. One simple file at the root of your repo containing the context AI needs to understand how your product should be marketed and sold. Think: README.md → understand the product AGENTS.md → understand how to work on the code GTM.md → understand how to market the business It can include your ICP, positioning, pricing, competitors, messaging, voice, acquisition channels, buying signals, objections, proof and current GTM goals. Then you can simply tell an agent: “Read GTM.md and create our Product Hunt launch.” Or: “Read GTM.md and write a cold email for this prospect.” I also included buying-signal context so GTM tools like Startories.com can fit naturally into agent workflows for finding companies already showing intent. It’s open source, intentionally simple, and just one file. Would love feedback on what should become part of the GTM.md standard.

Hey! I just checked this out :) format looks cool. I wanted to ask if you plan to create an accompanying skill or plugin that ensures your agent continually updates the GTM file in your repo. As it stands, the isn't a skill as it doesn't contain any frontmatter.
