Groupio - Free complete tasks & expenses manager for room mates

Hey everyone 👋 I’m Gerard, the maker of Groupio. This project started in a very simple (and honestly frustrating) way — living with roommates 😅 Managing shared expenses, splitting payments, and keeping track of who had to do what was a constant source of confusion. We tried spreadsheets, notes, even combining different apps… but nothing really worked smoothly together. So I started building a small “to-do app” just for us. At first it was something very basic: just tasks and simple expense tracking. But over time, as we kept using it daily, new needs kept appearing: recurring tasks, rotating responsibilities, shared payments, better visibility, less friction… And that’s how it slowly evolved into what Groupio is today — a platform designed to handle group coordination in a more complete and flexible way. One of the most interesting parts of building this project has been experimenting with AI-assisted development: defining structured workflows, using agents, and iterating on prompts to maintain consistency without losing control of the codebase. Groupio is still evolving, but it’s already solving the exact problem it was built for — making shared living a lot less chaotic. I’d really love to hear your thoughts and feedback 🙌
