I built Gregory to fix my own domestic grocery mistakes. What started as a simple list app quickly evolved after a few real-world realizations:
Lists need to follow store layout: Standard lists make you crisscross the supermarket 5 times. Gregory groups your list by aisle so you move through the store in one clean sweep.
Text descriptions aren't enough: "Buy butter" leads to mistakes. Gregory lets you upload a photo of the exact item/brand required so whoever is shopping gets it right every single time.
Recipes drive shopping: We added prebuilt recipes where you can push needed ingredients directly onto your list in one click.
Coming from a high-stakes QA background, my priority was making Gregory zero-bloat, rock-solid, and genuinely useful for everyday life. My sister-in-law (who actually works in a supermarket!) even helped refine how real aisles flow to make the categories as accurate as possible.
