GraphJS - Make any website social

GraphJS is an open source set of “stickers” that enables social capabilities on any web page. It makes it easy decorating your site with social features like:

* a powerful authentication infrastructure,

* forum,

* profiles,

* groups

* messaging

* ratings, comments

and more, as easy as adding an HTML tag such as:

<graphjs-forum></graphjs-forum>

I am optimistic that with GraphJS, and its soon-to-be-announced applications, we can build a better, more useful and interoperable social web. If you’re a web developer, we invite you to try it out for yourself at https://graphjs.com.

@emresokullu +1 congrats buddy when will you switch Grou.ps to this?

Sounds like an amazing service with a terrible name. I don't think if I was searching for similar tools I would ever type "graph" in my search. Also by typing "graph" + "js" I will get chart like libraries, or things related to graphql results. It's a weird choice of name.
Emre Sokullu
@tostartafire You may be right :) It's already happening.
Mujtaba Azim
@tostartafire Yeah. I mean social.js would have been a better name.

Emre has a clear open source vision, and GraphJS is a great tool for social web. Wordpress Plugin is a big plus! 🏆

How is this different from stream ?
Emre Sokullu
@inthe0n We actually make use of Stream. Stream is a great newsfeed infrastructure. GraphJS is much higher-level than that. Newsfeed is only one function that we deliver, but we also do messaging, groups, profiles etc. C/o https://graphjs.com/docs

@rrhoover @emresokullu bro this whole thing can be built in no time :p I meant graphjs
Emre Sokullu
@ucefkh why build when you can steal? It's open source.
Graeme
are there any example sites using this?
Emre Sokullu
@graeme_fulton yes it's been on several personal and professional sites during the pilot period. You may take a look at https://blocksplain.com (a blog by Richard MacManus) and my own website https://emresokullu.com for use-case inspiration.

Looks cool, but I've tried signing up earlier and it failed, what's going on, please help.
Shalon
Also, please don't tell me this is this going to replace grou.ps!! What will happen to all of our uploaded images and videos?
Emre Sokullu
@shalonbucher the site is partially hosted on heroku and we have had a problem with one of dynos, but it's fixed now as we've inreased the # of dynos. thanks for your interest,
Emre Sokullu
@shalonbucher 😆no it's not going to replace grou.ps they are different tools, more on that soon with a Medium post.
Emre Sokullu
In a single day, we have exhausted Heroku's all-time instance limits! Thanks everyone for your interest.
AnnabelDepperschmidt
Where is the Wordpress extension?
Emre Sokullu
@annabeldeppersc thanks Anna! They are available, if you search GraphJS in the Wodpress extensions page, you'll find it. See my blog post for full information: https://medium.com/@emresokullu/... -- although please note, it's not product-ready yet, so use it at your own risk!! 😉 Another launch for Wordpress extension may be coming up soon, who knows 😃
AnnabelDepperschmidt
