I am proud today for our team to launch Flare, a community app that allows people to share, get feedback on, and refine their ideas - whether to start new or grow existing businesses. Having been a founder myself and working with entrepreneurs every day at GoDaddy now, I know how important it is to get feedback and how hard it can be to get some that's helpful and unbiased. With Flare, entrepreneurs can quickly poll followers for feedback on the feasibility, desirability, or pricing of their idea, among other things. We surveyed 2,000 people recently and two-thirds of them told us they had a concept for a business, product, or service, but only 15% actually pursued it. The biggest barriers? People either didn’t know what to do next (30%), or were held back by fear and self doubt (15%). The right amount of guidance or feedback or interest (or some mix of all three!) could have been the deciding factor to get someone going forward instead of going nowhere. Let us know what you think!
What about Android?
we will be launching our Android version next month.
Flare for Android is now in the Play Store:
Was their first idea to rip off the AirBnb logo? Someone should have given them the feedback not to do that.
i think it's sufficiently different
I see the resemblance too. It's almost like an upside down Airbnb. However, it is also a common look for light bulbs, can't really nail them too hard for that.
because logo originality has something to do with product success....
Already tried it out this morning. I like the concept. Be interesting to see how it works out
Love the concept. Best way for creative people to get confidence (or not) in an idea and feedbacks quickly
Cool service. I still feel too nervous to share my ideas, thinking they will all be stolen and everyone will make millions, instead of me. HA!
Thanks for the comment! FYI: If you have unique IP that needs protecting, you could speak to an attorney and consider filing a provisional patent before posting. That may give you time to get feedback and refine your idea through Flare while still protecting your idea.
So many great ideas already... I am hooked!
great to have this idea backed by such a big brand --- that's what a platform like this needed to become main stream.
Love the logo!
Any plans for web version?
Flare is primarily mobile. Any web presence we have is to allow users (who might not have the app installed) to give feedback on ideas that are shared with them.
Ideas expire after 24 hours? AKA SNAPCHAT FOR STARTUPS
FB only login? 😫 I don't have FB! a provisional patent is highly unlikely to protect an idea. Would be good to have a disclaimer up front though.
