Building Gochu.ai right now, and this question keeps coming up for me: the AI companion space has a real trust problem lately (Character.AI's lawsuits, Replika flip-flopping on content policy...).

I've been trying to build the opposite safety and transparency baked in from day one (age assurance, clear AI disclosure, a published crisis-response protocol) rather than bolted on after something goes wrong.

Curious what this community actually thinks: what would make YOU trust a product in this space? Is it transparency about how it's built? Third-party audits? Just... time and track record? Or is trust not really the blocker and it's more about the experience itself feeling worth it?

Genuinely want to know what matters here before I lock in priorities on the roadmap.
