## Product Story I was previously a co-founder & CTO, as well as head of international operations at a unicorn tech company. Primarily, I provided risk control and anti-fraud services for financial institutions and internet companies, serving mainly medium to large-sized enterprises and organizations over the past decade. When the wave of large AI models came, I wanted to incorporate LLM technology into our business scenarios. However, after many attempts, I found only a few niche areas like OCR where it could be effectively applied. Most of the data processed in risk control and fraud detection is structured, and traditional machine learning technologies still dominate this field. Nevertheless, the momentum of AIGC technology is unstoppable, and I believe this might be my final opportunity—one that I must seize no matter what. Therefore, at the beginning of this year, I resolutely plunged into the AI startup wave. After spending two months, I developed an AI application targeting overseas financial users. The app collects all user reviews of financial products, then uses large language models to deeply analyze this data and generate concise, clear summaries with greater reference value. This allows users to easily access genuine information about financial products without having to spend hours searching online for fragmented details. After the website launched, I realized there was a significant language barrier when doing marketing. For example, my financial AI app initially targeted the Indonesian market, but I don't speak Indonesian. Replying to posts on Reddit's Indonesian finance forums or responding to messages in WhatsApp/Discord groups required me to first translate everything via ChatGPT before copying it over—it was extremely inconvenient. I wanted to minimize interruptions while typing, and hoped that by simply @ mentioning a specific language, the system could automatically translate it. Although switching to translation software seems like just one or two additional steps, it becomes very cumbersome when used frequently. I discovered that all existing translation apps focus on the 'reading' side, yet none are designed to prioritize the 'input' side. I searched the entire web but couldn't find an ideal solution. Eventually, I decided to solve my own problem first—and thus Glotera was born. ## What's the difference - Just enter your native language in the input field, @ specified language will be automatically translated and replace the original content - No need to switch back and forth between translation software, it won't interrupt your thinking, greatly reducing switching costs - Mac native app, supports all desktop apps and various websites, one app solves all problems ## 🚀 How to Use ### 🔤 Input Translation - After entering content in any input field, specify the target language (100+), and it will automatically translate and replace the original text. - Supports the following triggering methods: - Type @language code or #language code (e.g., @en or #ja), then double-click the spacebar to initiate the translation. - Pressing the enter key directly after inputting will automatically translate and send (this only works in chat software clients; you can disable this feature in the settings if not desired). - Use the mouse or Cmd+A to select all input content, then click "Translate to" in the pop-up menu or any other language you wish to translate to. ### 📄 Reading Translation - In non-input areas such as web pages, selecting any text will pop up a translation overlay that quickly displays the corresponding language content.
