🚀 Automating Git Reports with AI (GitHub + Bitbucket)

by•

Hey Product Hunters đź‘‹

I’m Ahmed, co-founder of Gitmore.

We built Gitmore because manually tracking GitHub/Bitbucket repos and writing updates was draining our days as engineers and PMs.

The pain points we kept running into:

Losing track of PRs and follow-ups

Hours spent compiling weekly repo updates

Existing tools were either too complex or too barebones

👉 That’s why we built Gitmore:

Connects directly to GitHub & Bitbucket

Delivers smart daily/weekly reports (Slack or email)

AI-powered summaries + chat agent to ask questions about your repos

Instead of another static dashboard, Gitmore feels like a teammate who actually “gets” what’s happening in your repos.

âś… Live now with GitHub + Bitbucket integrations

âś… Flexible scheduling

âś… AI reports & agent

âś… Slack & email delivery

We’d love your feedback:

How are you handling repo updates in your team right now?

Do you prefer async reports in Slack/email or dashboards you can check on demand?

Would really appreciate your thoughts 🙏

This looks super interesting, Ahmed. I have not used Gitmore yet but I can relate to the pain points you described. Compiling repo updates manually feels like a big time sink.

For me, async reports in Slack or email make more sense since the info shows up where the team already is, instead of needing to open another dashboard. I am also curious how the AI summaries handle noisy repos with lots of activity. If it can surface only the key takeaways that would be very useful.

Excited to see how Gitmore evolves.

@alex_cloudstar Thanks for the feedback, that's a really good question and thats why we added Custom Newsletter Prompts so you can tweak what gets reported. You can basically create a prompt that meets your need for example:

  • Highlight only security-related PRs

  • Summarize commits with customer-facing impact

This looks super useful, Ahmed! Weekly updates usually eat up way too much time for us. How customizable are the reports?

@abod_rehman Thanks for the feedback. We have Custom Newsletter Prompts which allows you to focus on what matters most for your team — e.g.:

  • Highlight only security-related PRs

  • Summarize commits with customer-facing impact

Basically you can use the prompts to tweak what gets reported.
