Hi Product Hunt, I'm Djordje, the maker of GhostDeck. I keep my music as files, FLAC and MP3, and every Mac player I tried was either a huge library manager or a list with a play button. I missed the players I grew up with, and I love late-'90s low-poly graphics, so I built the player I wanted. What it does: - The classic deck layout: main deck, ten-band EQ and playlist as separate windows that dock together like magnets, pixel font and all. - A 3D pane where your album cover becomes a jewel case turning over one of five low-poly worlds that react to the music: synthwave, a moonlit forest, dunes with a chrome skull, a rainy neon city and a deep sea. Each world reskins the deck. - FLAC, MP3, AAC, ALAC, WAV and AIFF. Version 1.1 adds FLAC tags and embedded covers, gapless albums and a low power mode. How it's made: native Swift and a hand-written Metal renderer, no engine and no web view. Almost everything is generated on your Mac at launch, so the app is about 12 MB. No account, no analytics, no network access at all. It's a one-time purchase on the Mac App Store, no subscription.
