Our match score goes beyond simple keyword detection.

GetNextRole uses a semantic understanding model that reads your experience the way a recruiter would. This allows it to:

  1. Identify transferable skills even when the exact keywords don’t appear in the job description (e.g., “client communication” → “stakeholder management”).

  2. Map responsibilities to related competencies, not just direct matches (e.g., project coordination → project management fundamentals).

  3. Weight real-world relevance, so strong experience in related areas still boosts your score even if the terminology differs.

  4. Lastly, flag gaps clearly, showing what’s missing and what could be strengthened to improve alignment.

So the score isn’t limited to keyword overlap, it’s a contextual match that accounts for how your background translates into the role.
