I have open-sourced an automatic upgrade component for desktop clients, which follows the MIT license and supports both Windows and Ubuntu operating systems. Notably, it doesn't require any UI itself and theoretically supports all desktop client technologies such as Avalonia, WPF, WinForms, WinUI, and other desktop technologies.
