What is your quick, no-bs method for stopping bookmark hoard?

I have hundreds of saved links sitting in random folders that i almost never open again.
Buying a dedicated bookmark manager app feels like overkill for basic link saving but keeping everything in chrome is just making a huge mess.
Do you guys actually go back and delete stuff regularly or is there a simple trick to keep the clutter down?

maybe deleting old bookmarks once a month would be enough to keep things under control.
A simple rule like “if i don’t use it soon delete it” could probably work.
