Sometimes the simplest things become the most challenging

The hardest part of building Finden wasn’t what we expected… everyone talks about building data pipelines. I didn't think building one was that hard. But building a pipeline that can actually handle messy, complex, high-volume data, while still delivering answers, that was brutal!

When we took @Finden from idea to product, this was our biggest surprise. Scaling pipelines wasn’t just an engineering problem, it became the problem.

What’s been your biggest “we thought it would be easy, turned out impossible” moment building your product?

It’s funny how that happens. From the outside, so many things sound straightforward - 'just build the pipeline,' 'just design the flow,' 'just ship the MVP.' Then you start doing it and realize it’s 10x harder than you imagined. But I think that’s also the addictive part of building, the struggle makes the wins so much sweeter.

If you think about it, when creating a product there were many topics that initially seemed like simple tasks, but over time I realized they were much more complex than they appeared. I believe we all had such situations while building a product. The important thing is that we didn’t stop :)

Totally relatable. With Vidopix, it wasn’t just about building the product, but making sure it could scale in the real world. What looked straightforward on paper quickly became a challenge once real users and real data came in. It taught us that the hardest problems aren’t the obvious ones, but the ones that only appear after you start testing at scale
