Running a Product Hunt launch day solo – what do you wish you'd known?

I'm doing my first solo Product Hunt launch in a few weeks. No team, no hunter with a big audience, no launch day command center. Just me and a very long to-do list.
So if you've done a launch day on your own:
What's the 1 thing you'd do differently?
What did you spend time on that turned out not to matter?
How do you get through the dead hours in the middle of the day?

This doesn't directly answer your questions, but from my experience, here's what I would prioritize if I were doing a solo launch:
Make sure your tagline is clear and catchy (it's often the first thing people notice when they're scrolling the leaderboard)
Your gallery images should tell a story like it's a mini demo
Reach out to people you know irl and give them a heads up about your upcoming launch so they can log into (or create) their accounts ahead of time
I wouldn't spend time worrying about producing a new video or doing an elaborate demo because they're more resource-intensive
If you're able, I would consider finding a hunter. I didn't have one for my first launch, and my subsequent launch was much more successful.

Giving friends a heads-up before launch day is smart too, adding it to my list rn. Curious about the hunter part tho. I thought hunters barely move the needle now after PH changed how launches work? Did it really make the difference for you?
@yelyzaveta_kibets I think it probably depends on who you choose as your hunter. If they have a lot of influence and have built trust in the community, it's likely more impactful. We worked with a Product Hunt veteran with several #1 launches under his belt

@ryanwrites That explains a lot tbh – a hunter with real trust is basically a warm intro to the whole community. I don't have one like that this time, so I'm betting on the product story + showing up in every single comment. Honest question: did the veteran hunter change your actual numbers, or more the confidence going in?
@yelyzaveta_kibets their followers often receive alerts or updates about some of their activity, so if they have a large following it can be helpful :)
