One Search Console query showed 2,246 impressions and only 19 from mobile

I spent two weeks rewriting titles on pages that ranked on page one and earned no clicks. The fix I trusted was CTR.

Then I split the impressions by device. The query "workout app development" showed 2,246 impressions in Search Console. Semrush has no US search volume for it at all, and only 19 of those impressions were mobile. Site-wide over the last 90 days, mobile accounts for 20 clicks against 5,789 impressions.

A lot of what I was crediting or blaming on the title was desktop traffic that never had a person behind it. I now score any title or page change only on the mobile numbers.

Has anyone found a cleaner way to separate bot impressions from real ones in Search Console than splitting by device?

I have seen this too especially when mobile and desktop data tell very different stories Splitting by device is probably the cleanest starting point but I’d also compare query patterns and CTR changes over time

@shivam_kushwaha16 The device split is the fast version. The slower check I ended up running was whether Semrush shows any US search volume for the query at all. Zero volume sitting next to thousands of impressions is a clearer tell than CTR ever was.
