My worst-looking content always sells best
by•
When I was selling things myself, the iPhone video with bad audio always beat the nice version. Just someone at a kitchen table showing the product, no lighting, no edit.
Now I'm doing marketing for a launch, and I keep catching myself making things prettier when I should be making them more real.
Is this just my experience? What's the scrappiest thing you posted that did better than something you actually worked hard on?

the messy behind the scenes stories are always the most relatable
@shivam_kushwaha16 Yes I fully agree! What platform works best in your opinion to share this type of content? X, linkedIn, instagram?

Same thing showed up in my Reddit comments once I actually counted. I sorted 357 of them by their first word. The 13 that opened with "I" or "my", just me saying what I did, earned almost three times the upvotes of the ones that opened with "The" and read like a small essay.
Small sample, I know. But most of what I had posted was the essay kind, and that was the part that stung.
