Hey everyone, Mahyad, co-founder and CEO of SigmaOS here. PH has been an amazing community for us over the last two years. We launched in 2021 to an incredible reception, becoming Product of the Day/Week/Month, and again in 2022 with SigmaOS v1.0 (which has been nominated for Product of the Year!). How do you monetise browser apps? Also - I am reviewing you soon.
Heyo, excited to see what your thoughts are 🙈 In terms of monetisation, we have a free version for hobbyist but our focus is on monthly subscriptions for professionals like creatievs and teams like startups. We are staying away from search engine deals (which most browser get monetisation from) which means we would have to partner with search engines and make money off of people’s data
Rather, we want to be aligned with our users and only charge for genuine value exchange, similar to the ethos of Notion or Superhuman
What is your top challenge at this stage of the journey?
Keeping a balance on developing a product people genuinely love and enjoy, but also distributing it so more people can get the joy of a better browsing experience :)
It's truly the best "rethink" of the browser and subsequent experience. As you know, I love your product and vision. Keep chargin' man!
