Is mental health valued at your workspace?
by•
Human research is a very important part of the development process behind a mental health app like Nomadful. Even though well-being is fundamental for both professional and private life, some companies still aren't doing anything to back this up or ensure mental health is offered to users as their right, more than just a job perk.
How's the situation with mental health at your workplace?

So I do believe my job does offer free mental health, but only temporarily/for a certain amount of sessions before it becomes paid. I personally haven't tried it out and don't plan to, but it seems decent on the surface, but it takes more than a few sessions to have an effective breakthrough I'm sure.
Overall, mental health will become so critical moving forward with an increasingly digital world, companies will have to start investing in it, whether they want to or not.
I'd also like to end with my own personal experience as an African American, not to make this about race, but to offer an unique, insider POV. Our people are finally starting to see the value in therapy, but it's still something that needs to be normalized and used. A lot of complaints I've heard or seen are that it's very awkward or hard to find therapists that fully relate to our experiences and understand our POV effectively. It's your product and I'm sure you have some idea of what you want to include, but think this could be an area that you expand into with a lot more research of course.
