Is a faster simpler feature better than a slow one that does everything?

our search bar used to search everything across the app, but it took over 2 seconds to load.

we tried changing it so it only searches documents fast, with a small option to search everything else if needed. usage instantly tripled and way more people actually clicked the results.

Turns out making a feature fast and simple works way better than making it handle every single task.
