I've been questioning a product design assumption.

When people chase likes, followers and visibility, we usually blame human behavior.
But what if we're actually observing the incentives created by the interface?
As product builders, we shape behavior through design choices.
If we removed public metrics, persistent identities and permanent content, do you think user behavior would meaningfully change?
Or would people simply recreate the same dynamics in another form?
I'm interested in hearing how other founders and designers think about this.
