I checked how Product Hunt's #1 hunter actually lands hunts on Cloudflare and X

Wanted to know how one account ends up hunting Cloudflare, X Money, and Grok 4.5 in the same week, so I checked the actual hunter credit on each launch instead of guessing.

All three trace back to Chris Messina, PH's all time number 1 hunter. His own bio says it outright, he books calls with companies to hunt their launch for them, there is a literal booking link on his profile. It is not a queue anyone can join, it is a service built on being the most consistent hunter on the platform for years.

PH's own Launch Guide says makers do not need a third party hunter and there is no discernible advantage to using one. Companies use Messina anyway, which tells me the advantage was never the KP or the mechanic, it is his own audience showing up attached to the launch.

Anyone here actually had a launch hunted by someone besides themselves? Curious if it changed anything measurable, or if it was mostly optics.
