How long did you take to build the MVP?

by•

I know a lot of fellow builders who take months to build a product that has not been tested in the market. Then there are others who build the product in days or weeks, test it in the markets and decide whether to continue to build it or abandon it.

For me, I was certain that my product is validated and needed in the market. It took me about 4 months to build the MVP.

What about you?

About 2 months for AllForms.io. It's 17 SaaS tools in 1, definitely way faster build cycle nowadays with all the tools available.

@frederikb Interesting. Ain't that too many things? What's your pitch?

Frederik Bussler

@thebigk most SaaS tools nowadays are overpriced bloatware. If anything, AllForms is not enough tools (yet). The average business has over 100 subscriptions and spends over $100K a year on software. Software should be accessible and good value for the money!

@frederikb - haha absolutely! How's the response from customers?

PS: I looked at your website and wondering if you're planning to build a dedicated community around AllForms.

@thebigk the response is great so far! It depends on the audience though. I was talking to a wealthier guy who didn't really get the point. If you're making $300K a year, you probably don't care what your software costs. But if you're a regular guy, you still want value for your money. And there's a lot more of the latter than the former.

I think down the line I'll build a dedicated community! For now focusing on product and iteration. P.S. I took a look at Jatra, looks cool

That’s a solid approach! Taking 4 months to build an MVP after validating your idea shows you’ve balanced speed with quality. Personally, I lean more towards quick iterations—building a lean version in weeks, testing with real users, and then refining based on feedback. It’s amazing how much market insights can reshape an initial vision. How did your MVP perform once you launched it?
