We considered the needs and feedback of our customers and the current trends in the industry in order to create something that would be most beneficial to our users.
While I definitely agree these are necessary things, I'm not sure they're sufficient. The reality of business is that you don't just need to have something great that people want, you also need to have a way to deliver it to them at a cost that makes economic sense. So I'd add that, in addition to thinking about customer needs and feedback, it also makes sense to validate whether you can drive waitlist signups at a cost lower than your expected LTV. Keep iterating through things your customers value until you find something that checks all the boxes.

Customer feedback is so invaluable I'm shocked may companies still don't utilize them
The first thing I always do for the idea is to look for the problem around me or what problem I am facing and currently the solution exists in the market or not. If the solution exist then the next process will be to check how feasible is that according to UI, pricing and other criteria. We need to examine as a user experience first and later as a developer. Build the MVP, get user feedback and plan accordingly.

I could not find an app that generated lorem ipsum text independent of what program or app I was using. So I ended up with one VSCode extension, one chrome extension and one figma extension for the same purpose, generating lorem ipsum text. All of them working in their own way. That's when I came up with the idea for the Lorema app, which solves this issue perfectly! :)

Yes, I'm currently coding solutions I'm gonna use almost daily because I can't find a market version that suits my needs. I've already done the same with documents and data; collected what I needed, used it extensively and then offered it to some friends to avoid them the extra work. I'm now thinking to turn it into a side project. If feedback is good and lots of people want it, it's a good way to make your work profitable once more ;)

I created a simple app (cuz none existed) to solve my own problem then I realised that other people might have the same problem so I created Focusability.

Without philosophical talk and straight up into the subject. I'd say, Wanting to create something in that particular subject. Afterwards all the research of market gap and finding opportunities comes. imho, its important to find what you really want to do, so you'd have some kind of connection and enjoyment.

Yes and no, it started as wanting to make something great and I picked something that I wanted and wanted to do things differently, then after I researched the gaps and learned from the competition mistakes.

We were saddened by the lack of faces in marketing and the number of people hiding on group chats without cameras on. Having a remote workforce meant people in different timezones felt left out, the team were isolated and not engaging in a friendly "human" way. So we came up with the idea to create an asynchronous video-first community platform so timezones didn't matter (asynchronous) and conversations became more personal and authentic (video conversations).
So true. Without cameras on, my coworkers in meetings just become voices, rather than people.
Online meetings are definitely hard to get right. People seldom get comfortable with switching on their videos. I repeatedly lost my mind about a specific problem and I realized, I'm not the only one
I have created over 1,000 slides. Through this experience, I have found the following Insights - Everything requires mouse operation, which is tedious. - This tediousness is a burden on Output. - It is good if we can express strength, tone, and relationship - I want to be able to express them using only the Keyboard. In addition, from my experience of reading many articles, books, and documents, I also felt that the existing format of text was problematic. I thought that Tones could solve this problem as well. (I am not fluent in English, so I am using DeepL to translate the text.)
I was in a controlling, emotionally abusive relationship for four years as a young woman and had no idea what to call it, other than I was constantly walking on eggshells and afraid of my partner. I managed to get out by leaving in the middle of the night with a pre-packed bag. Years later, a friend of mine was relying on iPhone notes, random voice notes, screenshots and photos – all of which needed to be regularly uploaded to a 'secret' google drive – to help her document the threats, insults, as well as gaslighting, from her abusive boyfriend. She was able to go to the police with that evidence eventually. Hence the idea for a safe, secret, smart 'diary' app, where anyone whose partner makes them feel uncomfortable can write down their experience, learn about how abusive relationships work, and feel sane. I've been working in product design for 10 years now and this feels like it could genuinely help people and even save lives.
