Has anyone actually consolidated their website stack? What happened?

One thing I've noticed with websites is that the stack can grow pretty quickly.

You start with a CMS and hosting, then add plugins, analytics, SEO tools, forms, backups, security, integrations, and other tools as you need them.

None of those decisions seem unreasonable on their own. But eventually, I started wondering whether having more tools actually makes the setup better, or just harder to manage.

Has anyone here actually consolidated their website stack?

What made you decide to do it?

And after consolidating, did it genuinely make things simpler, or did the complexity just move somewhere else?

I'm especially interested in experiences from people managing multiple websites or client sites.
