Has AI credit usage changed the way you build products?

Over the past few months, I've noticed that my building habits have changed.

When I first started using AI development tools, I would experiment freely, iterate often, and explore different ideas.

Now, I find myself thinking about credit usage before I send a prompt or try another approach. Instead of asking, "Is this the best solution?", I sometimes catch myself asking, "Is this worth spending credits on?"

I'm curious if other builders have experienced something similar.

  • Has AI usage cost changed the way you prototype or experiment?

  • Do you budget your AI credits each month, or just focus on building and worry about the cost later?

  • Have you found a workflow that helps keep costs predictable without slowing down creativity?

I'd love to hear how other founders and makers are approaching this, especially those building products with AI every day.
