Does Launching with a Hunter Really Make a Difference?
by•
Hi everyone,
I’m about to launch my product, ViralSort 2.0, and I’m exploring whether to launch with a Product Hunt hunter or do it on my own.
I’ve launched a few products both with hunters and independently, but I’m still not convinced which approach truly drives more visibility, engagement, or traction.
Has anyone tried launching with a hunter?
Did it make a noticeable difference, or would you recommend submitting independently?
I’d love to hear your experiences, insights, or even lessons learned from both approaches!

Yes, I would advise it from our experience, helps to really tap into the PH community especially if you're new to it, like we were. Just look up how to best reach out given they get a lot of inbound. Good luck, looking forward to see your launch!

From my experience, a hunter with real PH community ties can make those first few hours much smoother, but it’s not magic.
Still, I'd say - YES, it does.

Hey Pradeep,
We got help from @chrismessina for our launch. Apart from his network and experience, he helped us position our launch very, very clearly to the community. His suggestions and thoughts played a significant role in our securing #2 last week. Could not recommend enough. :)
Good luck with your launch!

It helps in 3 ways
Build credibility for your product. Like if big guy is launcing, people think it is a good product
You'll know ins and outs of a launch. like what to do at what time and all. Makes the launch smoother.
Hunters have good following on social media. Sometimes, when they hunt your product, they will share your launch on their socials that will drive extra traffic to your launch
And If you're looking for hunters, I've made a list of top hunters here: https://launchpedia.co/product-hunt-hunters/

This definitely matters, depending on the results you want to achieve from the launches. I believe a launch is useful even if there wasn’t a specific goal, as it provides an object for analysis. As for hunters, I’ve never launched a product with hunters, so I can’t provide detailed information on that :(
