99% of custom GPTs are of poor quality, but I believe there's still that 1% that are incredibly valuable. Have you ever encountered a GPT that you just couldn't stop using once you started?
I totally understand your frustration with the quality of custom GPTs out there. It can be quite a challenge to find one that truly stands out. However, I have come across a few gems that have been incredibly valuable for me.
One custom GPT that has impressed me is "InsightfulAI." It's been a game-changer for me when it comes to generating in-depth market insights and trend analysis. The quality of responses and the ability to understand complex queries sets it apart from the rest.
@stylar_max It does look quite useful. Can you provide a link for it? I'd like to give it a try.

this part of OpenAI I haven't taken advantage of at all, in general I don't feel a need, in the end that's how you discover things or move towards some tool. Currently I use the completions api a lot for my AI-based crypto newsletter and not much else :) https://quickviewai.substack.com/
@marco_moauro1 Out of curiosity: Why did you stick with completions api and not switch to assistants API?
I've experimented with both and really appreciate the higher quality of well-prepared assistants.
On the other hand the cost is a lot higher.
I totally get where you're coming from. It can be tough to find a truly valuable custom GPT with so many options out there. I've actually come across a few that have been game-changers for me. One in particular stood out because it was so incredibly accurate and helpful in generating high-quality content. It's become my go-to tool for brainstorming and generating new ideas. I'd love to hear if you've found any gems in the custom GPT world!
The real difference in GPTs lies in the utilization of action.
What you mentioned about 99% of GPTs being hardly distinguishable from using gpt-4 directly, mainly due to differences in just the prompt, is the crux of the issue.
As a response, I launched this project last month: https://www.producthunt.com/prod...
GPTs, as a simple agent, needs constant expansion of actions and higher-capability models to truly become useful.
Both of these processes are currently underway. Therefore, it requires time and the anticipation of the next hot topic, such as the launch of GPT Store.
@blueeon Yes, the hidden threshold of Custom GPT is actually not low, and it requires some professional knowledge to utilize Action. I'm curious if anyone has already tried it in some professional fields and what the results are.
As I understand from articles talking about Custom GPT, that is, a GPT that can access any API on the web. For example -Let’s say I want to know if my favorite artists has released any new music.
Normally, GPT would have no idea because its training data doesn’t include data from the past month.
But Custom GPT with access to Spotify’s API can pull from Spotify data in real time, and give me an accurate answer. Am I right?
@roza_zakaryan1 Yes, but it's based on the premise that Spotify provides such an API, and then when you customize your GPT, you set the relevant commands in the instructions, like how to understand the data returned by Spotify's API.
@rick_fan ah, okay I got it, so it's not always could be useful.

Notion AI is way more useful for me than customGPTs. As of now, customGPTs feel a bit like a little scam in my opinion. It doesn't do anything better than just using the chat. I'm sure that it will improve over time.
@lena_pol The Custom GPT feature hasn't come full circle yet. In my opinion, we'll have to wait until the GPT store is launched to see if Custom GPT can truly be put into practical use.
