Are you seeing buyers from LLMs like ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, etc?
ChatGPT now has 800M+ weekly active users and processes 2.5 billion prompts per day. It's the 6th most visited website globally.
Perplexity, Claude, Gemini - they're all growing fast too.
What I'm curious about: Are any of you actually seeing customers/signups coming from these platforms?
Like, are people asking ChatGPT "what's the best [your category]" and then actually finding their way to your product?
The data suggests they should be:
60% of searches now complete without clicking through to websites
AI Overviews appear in 47% of Google searches
92% of Fortune 100 companies now use ChatGPT
We are launching Passionfruit Labs on Product Hunt today to help brands drive measurable revenue from LLMs: https://www.producthunt.com/products/passionfruit-labs. Shower your love and drop genuine feedback, we are here to answer questions all day!

But I'm wondering about the practical reality for founders/marketers here on Product Hunt:
Can you even track this in your analytics? Does it show up as referral traffic, or is it buried in "direct"?
Are you mentioned when people ask for recommendations? Have you tested it?
Does it convert? Or are these just curious browsers?
Would love to hear real experiences, drop a comment if you've looked into this or have data to share 👇

I have in fact shown up - not for the product I’m building but for the service I provide as my area of expertise, which is very niche. When people book time, I do ask where they heard of me, and occasionally they tell me that it was ChatGPT or Perplexity.
It doesn’t show up in my website analytics - it’s buried.
For my particular business, most of my leads are high intention leads so they tend to convert well. I don’t know how this type of lead will translates to a product (yet).

@natasha_knox that sounds really wonderful, Natasha!
We are exactly solving for this messy website analytics issue for AI search. You can track leads and revenue from each AI search engine and optimize your content strategy to drive conversions for both product and service here: www.labs.getpassionfruit.com/signup. Give it a free try :)
I’ve noticed some signups coming indirectly from AI searches, though much of it shows as “direct” traffic. It seems these platforms spark curiosity, but conversion still depends on a strong landing experience.

@robert_jr1 completely makes sense! Optimizing your landing pages/site pages are still very important. On-page GEO optimization along with technical fixes remain paramount to ensure conversion takes place in our experience as well.
Yes, we are noticing users from LLMs.
However, sometimes the intent doesn't align. That might also be a problem for me because we are in a bit of transition period. So GPT probably suggests our tool for use-cases or features that we no longer serve. However, I am hopeful that we will see some right users in future.
