I built Fringe Chrome Extension because the “spec list” part of interior design is still painfully manual. If you’ve ever opened 20 product pages and copy-pasted names, dimensions, finishes, links, prices, and images into an Excel sheet… you know the problem: it’s slow, it’s error-prone, and it kills momentum right when you’re trying to design. So we made it one click: visit any product page → grab the key info → export a clean, ready-to-use Excel specification list (with links) that you can share with a client, team, or supplier. How it evolved while building: It started as an internal tool for my own projects (because I was wasting hours every week). Then we tested it with designers and realized the real challenge isn’t “export to Excel”… it’s handling messy, inconsistent product pages. So we focused on making it feel magical and designer-friendly: fast capture, clean formatting, fewer steps, less thinking.
