Why I made "Monitor Only" impossible to fully silence

by

A few months back I almost added a "snooze all Monitor Only alerts" button. It was a rough week across all three businesses and the low-confidence flags felt like noise I didn't have time for.

Then a Monitor Only alert about a slow temperature drift in the cafe's walk-in cooler sat quietly for four days before I finally looked at it, and it turned out to be the early warning sign of a compressor issue that would've been a much bigger problem (and a much bigger bill) a week later.

That killed the snooze idea for me. Monitor Only exists specifically for the stuff that isn't sure enough to interrupt you but is still worth someone eventually looking at. If you can make it disappear entirely, you've basically deleted the tier, not managed it.

What I did instead: Monitor Only items get quieter, not gone. No push notification, no urgency, but they sit in a low-priority queue you can batch-review whenever you actually have five minutes, instead of vanishing if you don't look that day.

Curious if anyone else has built a "quiet but not silent" tier like this, and how you decided where the line goes between reducing noise and just hiding things you'll regret not seeing.
