Forrrge - visual playground for icons, thumbnails, and image ideas

by
Forrrge is a native visual playground for Mac and iPad. Type an idea, pick a style, get a bunch of directions back fast, then use your own taste to decide what works. Different from other generators: you bring your own AI key (Google, OpenAI, Hugging Face) and pay the model's real cost. No subscription, no credits, no per image fee. Prompts go straight to the provider, keys stay in your Keychain. Started with app icons. 1.1 adds thumbnails. $2.99 once, one purchase covers Mac and iPad.

Hi PH 👋 I'm a designer and this is my first app. It launched on Mac a couple weeks ago, and today it's on iPad too. I built Forrrge because I wanted a faster way to play with visual ideas. Not a tool that makes the final decision for me. More like a sketchbook that throws a lot of directions on the table quickly, then lets me decide what actually feels right. The pricing mattered too. Most generators meter you with credits or subscriptions. That feels backwards, because the whole point is trying a lot of options before you pick one. So Forrrge doesn't meter you. You bring your own AI key (Google, OpenAI, Hugging Face) and pay the model's real cost. Usually cents. I don't charge per image, ever. It started with app icons, so it exports full Xcode icon sets. 1.1 added a thumbnail mode for YouTube and covers, plus Nano Banana Pro with streaming previews. It's one universal purchase, $2.99 once, for both Mac and iPad.

bringing my own key and paying the model directly is exactly the kind of no-nonsense setup i want. tried it for a couple app icons and the directions came back fast enough that i actually kept refining instead of giving up.

The bring-your-own-key approach is genuinely refreshing, especially seeing real costs instead of mysterious credit math. App icon variations came back fast and the thumbnail addition in 1.1 makes it feel way more useful for quick mockups.
