My fan started going crazy, and doesn't appear to be retina ready. The UI is blurry (for me)

On Win 10 -at least on my PC- scale seems quite wrong. I mean the app itself looks very small comparing everything, I need a magnifier to work. Alphabetical sort would be nice I've a fonts folder that I've not installed to system yet, it'd be nice to see certain folders, not just system fonts.
Dominik Levitsky
@kiwison You need to add the folders to the app manually. It looks automatically only for system fonts. We are working on the resolution fix for Windows and also on the sorting. The update will be out next week.

Seems to be buggy. I can only see the system fonts installed....
Dominik Levitsky
@sarperdag Only the system fonts are discovered automatically, it's intentional. You need to add your folders with fonts manually by drag-n-dropping them.
Sarp Erdag
@dominiklevitsky got it. But it's confusing. Thought the app isn't working properly.
Dominik Levitsky
@sarperdag You were waiting for it to search all your files on the desktop and find all the fonts?
Sarp Erdag
@dominiklevitsky what's more, I drag & drop fonts in the app and still they don't appear anywhere... Am I doing something wrong?
Dominik Levitsky
@sarperdag Font folders on single fonts?

On Windows, Windows Defender blocks the install. Might want to look into that.
Dominik Levitsky
@cyclia Thanks! Going to look into that.

Nice - I've been looking for a Linotype replacement ever since it fried years of collections files. Suggestion: Need some kind of onboarding guide (or a few simple prompts) for those transitioning from other font managers. (Example: "Fontbase will only show system fonts by default. To manage your other fonts in Fontbase, simply drag-and-drop their folders into Fontbase's window to import them. This won't move the original font files; it'll only create a copy.")
Dominik Levitsky
@tomcharde That's a great suggestion. We definitely need some onboarding. It just wasn't our priority.

@dominiklevitsky I just wanted to say that you did a great job with this app! It's exactly the simple font-manager I've been looking for. I know there are more features to add and kinks to work out, but this is already a great piece of software and I look forward to seeing where you take it in the future! Way to go!
Dominik Levitsky
@joshshayne Thanks, Josh!

Hi, I have installed on windows, and its a great product, using it very frequently. But it is too much buggy at this point. Fonts preview won't work at most times. Uploading and syncing font is just a blindshot. surely a must have product for designers if all these issues are ironed out.

Great tool, guys! Like the simplicity and UI

1. What's font activation? How does it work? 2. Can you even share fonts with other designers in teams?
Dominik Levitsky
@looksawesome Font activation means, you can make a font available to all your apps, without installing it. And when, you close FontBase, it is de-activated. And when you open FontBase again, it is activated, again. You can put your fonts in a Dropbox folder, for example. And then add that folder to FontBase. You can share this way.

Like it so far. It would also be nice to import a collection from the native Mac font app. I have some collections there and do not want to add 50+ fonts manually 😅
